My cousin had her baby shower last week, and it was absolutely precious. She did a “rustic woodland” theme, and decorated with twigs, leaves, pine cones, tree trunk vases. Her cake was white, with little deer figurine toppers (pictured). It was understated, simple, and beautiful. And I found it much more tasteful than the traditional princess/tutu/glitter/sports/mustache themed showers I’ve been to. If you are planning a shower soon and looking for a more original baby shower theme, I’ve come up with a few ideas:
-Woodland
-Beach/Nautical/Under the Sea
-Jungle
-Holiday (Christmas, Halloween, Valentines, etc.)
-Space
-Moons and Stars
-Fandom Themed- Harry Potter, Star Wars, video games, etc.
-Color palette: pick 2 or 3 colors, just buy décor according to those (pretty much as easy as it gets)
-Rain/Cloud themed baby “shower”
-Pick a cute animal: deer, owls, whales, bees, foxes, penguins, birds, pandas, elephants.
-Heritage themed: were your ancestors from Ireland? Mexico? India? Japan? Theme your shower around your culture, cook traditional food, and celebrate where you came from. If the mother and father are from different cultures, combine them both into a cultural fusion party!
-Book/Library theme
-BBQ “Baby-Q”
-Religious themed
-Travel/hot air balloons
-Luau
-Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer
