I had to rethink chalkboards when I saw this photo of a real slate board above a kitchen sink posted by Phoebe of Silk Felt Soil. She is currently working to convert a large piece of slate into art for her living room.
The best part about the slate, aside from the very bold graphic punch it delivers to a light wall, is the ghostly remnants of what’s been written there. Those leftovers look a lot like art.
