Should You Take Your Dog To The Vet?
As much as we believe that our pets are part of our family, they aren’t able to communicate with us like our kids. We never know what’s going through their minds. Sure, you may be able to tell if something is wrong: whimpering, excessive barking, or limping are all pretty good indications that your dog is in pain. But there are other behaviors that show that something isn’t right with your dog. For more possible indicators that your dog needs to go to the vet, check out this important post by I Heart Dogs:
-Excessive grooming- dogs will obsessively groom a wounded area
-Heavy panting- could be stress-induced from pain
-Not eating- one of the most serious indicators that something is not right
-Shyness and aggression- if your pet becomes withdrawn and behaves erratically, he could be seriously sick!

Have You Heard Of These Adorable Dog Breeds?
I don’t consider myself a person who actually cares what breed a dog is: if it’s cute and nice and lets me pet it, I love it. However, I love this post by Pet Breeds! It’s a slideshow of a bunch of different dogs I’ve never seen before, nor head of. Check it out! Here are some of my favorites:

-Swedish Valhund
-Finnish Lapphund
-Tibetan Spaniel

Frozen Yogurt Dog Treat Recipe
I’ll be honest, when I saw this dog treat recipe by Stephanie Wertman at Snap Guide, I wanted to make some for myself. They look so delicious! I know any pooch would love them! It only involves a few ingredients, and is a healthy treat choice for adult dogs. Here’s her recipe:
1 banana, very ripe
6oz plain nonfat Greek yogurt
1/3 cup peanut butter, no sugar added
1/3 cup add in (carob chips, unsweetened)
1 tablespoon honey or agave syrup
Mix it all up, freeze in a silicone cube tray for a few hours, and your dog will love you even more!

Making Your Apartment Dog-Friendly
Apartments are, as a rule, generally not a good place to have a dog. Unless you have someone there that can take him outside multiple times a day, dogs are going to get cooped up inside such a small space with no outdoor area. However, it is possible to keep a dog happy in your new apartment home. Just read these tips by Maria Salova at For Rent:
-Try to live on the first floor with a door that opens to the outdoors to keep bathroom breaks easy and consistent
-Try bringing in a real grass litterbox for your dog- bring the outdoors in
-Have a wet vacuum for when accidents happen (they will).
-Take your pooch to the dog park as often as you can
-Get another dog if you only have one- they need the company!
