“Treat” Your Cat To This DIY Toy
Fancy cat toys can be expensive. You might spend $50 on a new scratching post to find that he’s more interested in scratching the box it came in! That’s why I’m a big fan of homemade toys to keep my pets entertained (yarn balls, paper bags…. my cat LOVES chewing on Q-tips for some reason). This idea from The Cat Pinky is another amazing one: a treat dispensing toy. Simply get an old (clean) drink bottle, fill it with a few treats and catnip, and cut a few small holes in it. As the cat plays with the bottle and bats it around, treats will slowly fall out! How cute! And her kitties look like they love it!

DIY Cat Shelf
Check out this DIY idea from Pinterest. It’s super simple, cheap, requires only minimal handyman skills, and your cats will be in heaven. I’ve always been tempted by large cat furniture, but I don’t exactly have the room for it. Well, this project will give your cat somewhere to jump and perch on, but won’t take up precious square footage. First, get a long plank that you can attach to a door (securely)/ Then, it’s as easy as attaching shelves to the plank. You can add carpet to each shelf to give them something to scratch as well. Ta-da! Check out the picture for the finished product. It means less holes in walls, less room taken up, and more fun for your kitties!

Keeping Your Pooch Warm in Winter
If it’s too cold outside for you, it’s too cold for your pets! This is elementary pet ownership 101, so I hope it goes without saying. But sometimes, bringing them in just isn’t enough- especially if you have a particularly scrawny or short haired breed. Those things can shiver like crazy! If you need a little extra heat for your pups, check out this post by Babble for some great winter doggie products.
Fleece For Your Furry Friends: Fleece is wonderful because it is a warm, light fabric that holds in body temperature quite well. These fleece hoodies for dogs come in multiple sizes
If They Still Need A Little Fresh Air: If you have a chilly area that your dog spends time in, this heavy duty heated mat is rated for use outdoors. It is perfect for dog houses or chilly back porches.

How to Sell a Home With Pets
One of the top tips that show up when trying to sell a home is: Don’t have pets. Well, that’s nice, except most of us (if we’re not terrible) aren’t going to get rid of our pet when trying to sell, unless you’re moving somewhere that pets aren’t allowed. But what about the rest of us? There are some standard tips, like: remove all pet related things, like litter boxes and food trays. Get rid of pet smells and stains. Nothing is more unappealing than walking into a house that smells like cat urine. Luckily, these tips by Bill Gasset at Max Real Estate Exposure goes beyond the normal advice, and makes sure that you and your pet will have a comfortable, seamless experience when selling your home:
-Talk to your vet- find out your animal’s needs.
-Consider temporary relocation- having your pet stay with family and friends is a great solution.
-Remove pets during showings- Having a pet in the house or yard can create complications for your agent while trying to show the house. There are also liability issues to deal with as well.
-Repair damage- As much as we love our pets, they are still animals, and often have little regard for our physical property. All of this damage should be repaired prior to showing the home.
