DIY Dog Bed Inspiration
Winter is fast approaching, so it’s time to make sure that your pets can stay nice and warm. You should keep them inside if the temperature is freezing or below, and have a warm place for them to sleep. One way to do this is by getting them a dog bed! I love all of these ideas by Landee at Landee See Landee Doo. They are so pretty that they can blend in with the rest of your furniture! Check out some awesome DIY dog beds here:

Coconut Oil Uses…For Pets
If you have Pinterest at all, you’ve probably seen all the posts lately lauding coconut oil as the latest miracle cure for everything: dry skin, frizzy hair, cavities, cellulite, pink eye- the list goes on and on. Does it actually work? Well, I’d advise asking your doctor before using it in place of actual medicine, but it is very creamy and is great in food as well as home beauty treatments. Plus, it’s pretty cheap and has a million uses, including benefits for pets! Check out this post by Miss Coco at Coconut Oil Tips for tips for cats and dogs:
-Add a teaspoon a day to cat food to prevent hairballs
-Use as conditioner for fur
-Soothes cracked paws/dry nose- especially important in winter!
-Use as natural toothpaste/breath freshener
-Supports healthy digestion in dogs and cats- 1 tsp per 10 pounds per day is good. Don’t give them too much, as it has strong detox properties and lots of calories.

Indoor Games To Play With Dogs
With colder weather approaching (my state is supposed to get our first freeze this weekend), it’s time to bring outdoor doggies inside. But, even dogs get cabin fever. Indoors, they don’t get the same stimulation that they do outside. So, it’s important to keep them from being bored. For ideas on fun things to do with your dog indoors, check out this post by Jen Gabbard at Puppy Leaks:
-Play hide and seek. Have your dog sit while you go hide, then praise them when they find you!
-Use the stairs for a workout- running up and down them will burn off excess doggie energy without destroying your home
-Teach your dog a new trick, like fetching something like your slippers.
-Play tug of war with a rope or an old sock.
