I’ll be the first to admit it: I’m a nosy person. I don’t directly involve myself in drama, but I want to know about it when it happens. When my (noisy) neighbors are fighting, I listen to everything going on. I love hearing about secrets from my friends and family, and I like to gossip. I know it’s not an admirable trait, but I am only human, and I’m working on getting better about it.
However, did you know that there are instances when being nosy can actually benefit you? One of these situations is when you are house hunting. Should you dig through the homeowner’s dresser drawers? Absolutely not. But, a little bit of poking around is totally within your right. After all, you’re the one who might be living there soon! -Take your time in the bathroom. Test the faucets, flush the toilet, give things a close examination, and don’t be shy.
-Check the closets to see how much storage space is there
-Thoroughly investigate the attic and basement for potential issues
-Speak the the neighbors
-Ask questions about everything. Talk to your Realtor, and talk to the sellers about anything that concerns you.
