It’s a fish who can’t swim anymore. In a little harness. Oh my goodness, I don’t know whether to laugh at how cute it is or cry.
Bonus, here is a video of Lip Stick the fish eating an orange:
I seriously can’t get enough of it!

I’ve heard of some people potty-training their cats before. One of our family friends has all three of her cats potty trained! They don’t even use the litter box anymore. All she has to do for them is flush! It sounds magical, especially since my cat’s litter box stinks SO bad (even though I scoop it every day and completely change it out every 5 days or so). But, at first I thought my cat was honestly too dumb to learn how to “go” in the toilet. Then, I found this tutorial at Cats of Australia, and it makes the process look extremely easy:
-Toilet training your cat basically consists of a simple procedure: gradually moving your cat’s litter box closer and closer to the toilet, then placing a bowl with cat litter inside the toilet, and removing it altogether when your cat is comfortable and used to it.
Be aware – cat toilet training takes a lot of patience!
There are step by step instructions on the site for each stage. I definitely am going to give it a shot! I’m a pretty patient lady. I’ll update every so often on how it’s going!

To be honest, before I stumbled upon this infographic, I didn’t even know bloat existed. No, not the kind of bloat that happens when you’re retaining water and your jeans won’t button quite right. Yet, it’s a serious problem and is the second highest killer of dogs (next to cancer). This kind of bloat is a serious disease that can affect any dog– and is extremely deadly. It happens when dogs have too much swallowed air in their stomach. As with any condition or disease, knowledge is power. Know the signs and immediately seek emergency care for your pet if he or she is exhibiting them:
-Dog retches or attempts to vomit and nothing comes out
-Dog becomes erractic and doesn’t act usual self
-Dog hunches up and adopts a “Sphinx” position
-Tummy swells up like a balloon, becomes tight “like a drum”, or hard
-Tries to defecate unsuccessfully
Information taken from this infographic on Pinterest, and this page at Global Span. Again, immediately take your pet to an emergency vet as bloat is deadly!

A phenomenon that comes with being part of any culture is inheriting some folk wisdom (Old Wives’ Tales or just tidbits of “common knowledge”). Sometimes, they will be based in scientific fact: for example, eating chicken noodle soup when you have a cold is actually extraordinarily beneficial. Sometimes, though, they can be nothing more than superstition and can be harmful. There is a whole slew of myths pertaining to pets and how to treat them. You might end up causing more damage than you think! This article by Leah Zerbe at Prevention.com will shatter some of your pet care preconceptions and make your pets all the healthier:
Myth: Table scraps are good for dogs: Our animals’ health improves when they receive a consistent source of fat, protein, and carbohydrates—and that’s not how human diets generally work.
Myth: Cats need milk: Cats and dogs don’t have the ability to appropriately break down the lactose in dairy, and consuming it can lead to diarrhea, vomiting, and other issues
Myth: Cats always land on their feet: They don’t. Install a window bay or a cat condo, and keep the window closed.
Myth: My pet stays indoors, so it doesn’t need to go to the vet:Certain vaccines can literally save your pet’s life, even if the dog or cat lives inside.
