Friday Fun Video: Not Sure How He Feels About This…
This dog doesn’t quite know if he likes piano music, hahaha
What To Feed Your Rabbit
I think rabbits are adorable. I just wish I wasn’t so terribly allergic. If I could get one, I totally would. Except, unlike cats and dogs, you can’t just go to the grocery store and pick up pre-portioned cans of food to give them. Rabbits need variety, and they need hay. If you are thinking of getting a new bunny, check out this post by New Moon Rabbit Rescue for what to feed them:
-Hay should be the main part of your rabbit’s diet (80%)
-They can also consume pellets and veggies in smaller amounts (20% of diet). Rabbit safe veggies:
-Arugula, Lettuce (NOT iceberg), Carrot greens, Dandelion greens, Cauliflower

Matted Mutt? Here’s Help
Ah, Springtime. I’m so glad you are here. I hate being indoors, freezing my butt off all winter. My dogs hate it too- they’re ready to get outside and play! But, with the joy of Spring comes a problem that all owners of long-haired dogs know too well: the matting. Unless you enter your dog into shows, or paid like thousands of dollars for it, chances are that you do not spend much time on grooming. I mean, who has time to brush their dog’s entire coat every day? Not me. Usually, when it starts getting hot, we take her to get groomed (all her hair chopped off), so we avoid it. Because once the hair is matted, good luck getting it nice again. But apparently, it is possible! Check out this post at Cowboy Magic for how to detangle the clumps:
-Assemble your tools- you’ll need a dematting tool, a mat splitting tool and a slicker brush.
-Find the mats and tangles using the slicker brush. They often form under the belly and on the back of legs.
-Apply detangler and work it out with your fingers first before using the mat splitting tools
-Brush your dog and bathe her!

Friday Fun Video: How I Feel About Birds
Birds love cats….Cats don’t feel the same way. Don’t worry, kitties. I’m not a fan of birds either 😛
Living With a Dog, But Not Dog Smell
Dogs are a lot of work, but the love you get from them is worth it (just like babies!) Unlike babies, though, dogs will stink up your home if you’re not careful. Probably the most challenging part of being a pet owner is keeping your home free of dog-smell. It can really sneak up on you! For tips on beating dog odor, check out this post by Dogington Post at Ebay:
-Bathe/groom your dog regularly, brush them every day.
-Lint rollers are your friends
-Vacuum and mop the floor every day
-Check your air filters
-Make use of disinfectants
-Use an enzyme cleaner on urine stains
-Wash their bedding regularly
Friday Fun Video: Super Cool “Vampire Squid”
I know I usually post about cute little furry animals (cats and dogs), but underwater creatures just fascinate me. I feel like if we’re looking for “alien” life in the universe, all we need to do is look in our oceans.
Also, I’m tagging this post as “fish” because there is no “vampire squid” tag 😛
Does Your Cat Really Love You?
I love cat and dogs equally. I have both, and I’ve always had both. I love the energy and enthusiastic, unconditional love you get from dogs, and I love the quiet companionship you get with cats (also, they are more low maintenance). Personality wise, I’d say I’m more of a “cat person”. I’m more laid back, introverted, and, yes, lazy. People that are NOT “cat people” usually claim it’s because cats don’t love you as much as dogs do. Some even claim that cats are evil, and only stick around for the free food. To that, I say BAH. Cats do love you. They just prefer to show it in ways that don’t include jumping on you and drooling all over your face. Check out this post by Danish Azizi at The Dog Breed to find out how your cat says “I Love You”:
-Scratching- it’s annoying, but cats only use scratching posts (or furniture to scratch on) if they are happy with where they live.
-Purring- the main way that cats proclaim love and affection.
-Sleeping- it’s a huge sign of trust and love if a cat sleeps in your lap, or on your bed.
-Licking- kitty kisses are considered rare, but it’s basically a cat trying to “groom” you. If a cat is licking you, she views you as part of her family.
