You’ve heard of burning the candle at both ends. These candle holders burn a candle on the top, and flip over to double as a flashlight.
Very clever.
Everything to do with your shak.
The Cycle shelf by Creosa Interior. It’s made of solid wood and metal sheets.
A Cardboard Safari. These laser-cut puzzles make for fun home decor.
A whimsical table with its own shoes.
Leah, of More Ways to Waste Time, found this very pretty set of Casablanca tea glasses over at Just Morocco.
I love this sort of ornate glass, because it can pull double-duty as a vase.
A set of 6 is $28.
As a writerly-type, I’m really into the recent typography trend. I can’t wait to fill my home with words.
But as the daughter of an accountant and an engineer, I have a soft spot for the occasional math reference.
So, despite my nightmare memories of pre-cal, I love this Equation Bookshelf. It’s bold and fun and would make a great gift for your favorite number-cruncher.
If you’re looking for a real tool box, ceramic may not be the most practical solution. But these china tool boxes from Le Petit Atelier de Paris are whimsically exquisite.
If you’re worried about chucking your hammer into something this pretty, these would make a nice home for craft supplies or pretty window boxes for small pots of herbs.

A few weeks ago, I discovered some amazing Spam art on Flicker (thanks to Joshua Blankenship’s blog).
The creator of this art, Linzie Hunter, takes quotes from some of the Spam she finds in her in-box and turns them into amazing hand-lettered posters.
We’ve all been annoyed to death by Spam, but it can also be quite funny at times. So I instantly fell in love with the series.
Now I’m so happy to say that Linzie is selling 9 prints from her Spam series at Thumbtack Press. The prints, which vary in size, are $29.99 a piece.

CasaSugar found a great deal on this Bookseller table over at JC Penney. It’s $99 and comes ready-to-assemble. So keep in mind you’ll need some tool skills.
JC Penney’s has really changed lately. So give their furniture section a chance. They’re no DWR, but they’ve got plenty of steals on attractive, serviceable pieces.
I didn’t have time to peruse the Web much yesterday. Busy day at the office. But when I looked around this morning, I found a treasure trove of awesome stuff that I have to share:
The Storyline shelf. I love the way it looks hung vertically.
Black, white and lavender look sublime together. I really like the pop of the cow-hide chair.
I can’t get enough of white lacquer side tables, like the Art night stand.
It looks like just another geometric wallpaper pattern. But look more closely and you realize it’s dice.
The Flapper Dots rug.
