I’m so glad that Fall is on its way. Where I live, the weather is either insanely hot and humid, or it’s thunderstorm-ing. We don’t really have an in between. As a result, I spend a lot of time indoors (and at the pool on the hot days, haha). I know how bad cabin fever can be, especially for kids. It’s important to have a backup plan for rainy days, and a whole slew of activities up your sleeve. But, it can be a bit hard to think of something on the spot. That’s why I love this post by Erin at Nest for Less. She created a “Rainy Daze” activity jar with her kids.
Basically, she wrote each activity idea on a popsicle stick, and put them all into a jar. On a rainy or bored day, her kids will pick one stick at random with a fun activity idea on it! Here are some of her ideas:
-Build a fort
-Indoor picnic
-Sock puppets
-Finger painting
-Various board games
-Look at photo albums
-Watercolor painting
-Dance
-Play restaurant/school/tea party
-Playdoh
-Read a book
-Watch a movie
