When I work, I sit on my couch in my pajamas with my computer in my lap and in full view of the TV. I usually have a bunch of other tabs open in my browser- Facebook, Pinterest, Youtube, etc., and I get distracted easily. I’d love to make my own home office area (I’m in college as well, so having a designated work/homework space would do wonders for me), but I’m not quite sure where to start. That’s why I love this infographic by Tipsographic! Here are their tips for creating the perfect environment when you work from home (it’s also great for students!):
-Avoid fluorescent lights, place your desk next to a window for lots of natural lights.
-Eliminate distractions- place your office in a room with no TV, use apps to block distracting websites.
-Eliminate clutter- a few well placed decorations/potted plants are great, but too many are distracting. Keep anything that’s NOT work-related off your desk.
-Get dressed, and create a schedule for the day. Timing your breaks will keep them shorter instead of wasting hours on Netflix or cleaning up around the house.
