Does the idea of working from home appeal to you, but most work-from-home jobs just don’t seem to be a good fit? Sure, you can be a freelancer or a virtual assistant, but with those jobs, you still have a boss to answer to. Why not be your own boss? A great way to work from home is by starting your own small, online business. The best part is, since you don’t have a storefront, it doesn’t require a huge financial commitment. For some business ideas, read this post by Jeff Rose at Good Financial Cents. Keep in mind that most of these are legitimate careers, and will take some training- but that’s what makes them so appealing:
-Bookkeeping
-Tax preparation
-Hairstylist (My current stylist runs her salon out of her home! She keeps more of her money, and I get to see her adorable dogs when I get my hair done)
-Translating
-Medical Transcription
-Grant Writing
-Blogging
-Mystery shopping
Check out the post for full descriptions on what each career requires, as well as the training you will need and the average salary. It’s an invaluable resource!
