Apartment Therapy posted pictures of a great small space in Paris. A family of four and their Labrador live in an amazing space that’s just 431 square feet. Cue the nutso commeters coming in to say that living in such a small space means the kids should be taken away. No, I’m not kidding. Commenter ChrisGal says:
Well, I doubt everyone feels the need to entertain – we have people over for dinner occasionally but that just involves a table and chairs – LOL.
I do find this unbelievable – I feel sorry for the children since they barely have anywhere to play and weather is not always willing for them to be outside. In the US, the children would be taken.
Umm. Later, she goes on to defend her stance that the “great” state of Indiana requires more square footage per person, and of course, being from Indiana, she knows best. Hoosiers, what can I say.
I suppose she’s unaware of living conditions in rural Appalachia or third world- heck, not even always third world- countries. Classism continues to prevail as commenter John H says:
431 square feet is roughly a space 21’x21′. I find it difficult to believe that a family of four plus Labrador are living in a space that small, no matter how well engineered it is. The children’s “room” has no exterior windows while the dining table only has three chairs for a family of four. This is their city apartment and they actually live elsewhere.
Except, later he’s set straight that indeed, the family does live there year round. I would think that in a city as incredible and expensive as Paris, these people don’t spend tons of time in their small home and instead are out enjoying their lives outside the home.
As for me, I don’t find it cruelty to children at all- although it might be a tad cruel to the parents at times. What do you think?
Love this place… those who are who don’t like it maybe are too blessed to have more space in their home. We are living in half of the space they have.
yeah, i thought maybe cruel to the parents too! since i am one, i know i need some space!
