Push through the crazy, my divorcing friends… for the kids! My family is probably one of the most rare ones around in that only one person has ever been divorced. One out of ten marriages for my family where the national average (for first marriages) is 50 percent.
A friend of mine is currently going through a very bitter, vengeful divorce but they are keeping the kids out of it for the sake of the children. While the anger is seething, one did take the step to cancel his Facebook page because – frankly – the information should not be public.
A Pennsylvania judge agrees that some things should be private and ordered the “Psycho Ex Wife” website shut down. Mom Crunch agrees with the judge’s decision,
Can I just say that I am really, really glad to hear this?
I remember distinctly the first time I somehow stumbled onto “Psycho Ex Wife” myself, a few years back. My jaw dropped as I realized that this guy and his wife were running a very active blog and online community based entirely around public bashing of the mother of the guy’s children. Even the title was a direct insult against this mom, and the blog’s icon depicted a cartoon drawing of an insane, banshee-looking woman waving her arms in the air. The ugliness astounded me.
Again, never having been in the middle of an ugly divorce, I tend to agree with the judge as well. Yes people should exercise their constitutional right to free speech, but defamation of character, libel, and slander are also very real issues to be considered.
Along with the kids.
