Halloween is my favorite time of year. I love the decorations, the weather, and yes, dressing up. I’m an adult. I do what I want, haha. However, while Halloween is a fun time for kids and adults everywhere, it can be a dangerous night for your furry friends. Besides the risk of animals running outside when the doorbell is constantly being rung by trick or treaters, all animals are at a higher risk of abuse on Halloween night. Sure, there probably aren’t pockets of sacrificial death cults roaming your neighborhood, but I’m sure you have a jerky teenager or two. Animals, especially black cats, often become the victims of cruel “pranks” on Halloween.
So, to keep your pets safe, keep them inside. Consider keeping them in a closed room away from the front door so they won’t run out. That way, you, your family, and your pets will have a safe and fun Halloween.
