Work From Home Idea: Travel Agent

by Kathy T.

Most people find that planning vacations can be incredibly stressful. Coordinating flights, hotels, rental cars, and activities can take a lot out of someone- especially when it’s supposed to be their time to relax and enjoy their time off. That’s why travel agents exist! They do all that work for you, for a small commission- which is usually pretty worth it. If you love organizing trips and planning itineraries for vacations, this may be a great idea for a career. Check out this post by Anna at Real Ways To Earn Money Online for how to get started as a work-from-home travel agent:

-When you’re working for a major company like World Travel Holdings orCarnival handling travel, you are not required to pay for your own training since you’re working for the company as an employee.

-The commission check will come from the agency after vacation plans have been booked for the client.

You Don’t Need Traffic To Make Money As A Blogger

by Kathy T.

There are some bloggers out there who are wildly successful, and make six figures writing and promoting their sites. However, most bloggers are not going to make THAT much money. You can, if you have the traffic and the time to dedicate to it. However, there are even more bloggers out there that make a decent living, and get paid to do what they love, even without hundreds of thousands of page views. Check out this post by Kayla Cruz at Lose GenY Girl for how:

-Write sponsored posts- companies will pay you to support their products

-Join Pannel

-Google adsense

-Sell your own products- you can create printables, an eBook, or run a class!

Productivity Habits To Adopt Before The New Year

by Kathy T.

Working from home itself can be a huge productivity drain. It’s hard to focus on work when there is housework to be done, pets to watch, kids to take care of, and Netflix to watch. It’s a miracle that anything gets done, really. Well, it’s time to kick procrastination to the curb. It’s almost a new year, which means it’s time to adopt new, healthy habits. Check out this post by Katie M. Mclaughlin at Pick Any Two for habits that productive people do every day:

-Set aside 5-10 minutes for planning each day

-Take care of quick tasks immediately

-Write a to do list (during your 10 minute planning period) and prioritize it. What are the top 3 things you need to get done today?

-They know when (and when not) to multitask

-They have a time management tool that works for them- a planner, or maybe an app.

Work From Home Idea: Proofreader

by Kathy T.

Do people on Facebook that misuse the words “your” and “you’re” make you grind your teeth? Are you an avid reader (or even writer) with a flair for English and grammar? Maybe even have a degree? And are you looking for a job that you can do from the comfort of your own home? Consider becoming a proofreader! For more information, check out this post by Kelly Land at Money Making Mommy:

-There ARE online proofreader jobs to be had. Many do seem to require “specialized” training or some type of testing to find out how skilled you are.

-There are really cool at-home learning programs, like Caitlin Pyle’s,Proofread Anywhere.
