Comedian Lives in Ikea

Comedian Mark Malkoff needed a place to live while his NY apartment was fumigated. He asked Ikea if they’d let him stay in their store for a week and record the experience. They said yes.

Mark moved into the Ikea on January 7th, and stayed through January 12th. He slept, ate, and lived there. You can see video recaps of his days here.

PS – I ate at the Ikea cafe for the first time yesterday and I was really, honestly impressed. I had the Swedish meatballs and a piece of their apple cake and I’d do it again. Mmmmm.

West Elm Spring Accessories: Yes Please

Another Shade of Grey has the first photos I’ve seen of West Elm’s Spring accessories line. And they are adorable.

I immediatly cruised over to the site to check things out. Since then, I can’t take my eyes off of these gorgeous glass bell jars. They feel very Victorian and look amazing paired with the Acacia wood slices.

I also like the adorable ceramic mushrooms, and the garden snail.

Sleek Cat Hideaway

I love functional design. And I love it when people love their pets so much that they decorate with them in mind.

The cats I’ve owned have always appreciated a snug hide-away. They’ve made holes so that they could sleep in the bottom of my box spring, climbed into a washing machine full of dirty clothes, and made a nest on my computer keyboard.

This under-chair cat hide-away is the perfect example of beautiful,
functional, cat-inspired design. It was made by Gabriel Sierra of San
