Happy World Cat Day!
It’s no secret, I am a cat lady. Yes, dogs are fun and adorable, but cats will always have a special place in my heart. Just the sight of one will turn me into a baby-talking nincompoop. So when I found out that today, August 8th, is in fact World Cat Day, I did a little happy dance and immediately went to the dollar store to celebrate.
I bought Kitty a new toy and even her own special party hat.
Needless to say, she was less than enthused about the hat, (note how excited she is) but she did have fun smacking around her new feather toy.
According to Cute Calender, World Cat Day was founded in 2002 by animal rights group IFAW. It’s the perfect opportunity to show your cat how much you love them. While it is a little silly (ok, a lot silly), keep in mind that cats can reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and improve mental health by providing love and companionship. Sometimes, they even catch vermin and household pests (but not mine, she’s too lazy). So go ahead, give your cat some extra table scraps tonight. They’ve earned it!

A Garage Built for a Bicycle
We don’t have cars in our garage. One side is used for my husband’s riding lawn mower. The other side is home to his motorcycle. It seems a bit unfair to me that I have to go out and scrape the windshield in the winter or fight the rain during downpours. But it’s okay, really. The garage will, at least, house two cars. This is something that not all garages do!
Home Inspector Jay Markanich talks about teeny-tiny garages,
Measuring from right at the garage door to right at the wall beside the staircase the tape comes to 12′ 7″.
Hmmm.
Let’s see. My car is in the driveway, a Ford Escape. It is 14′ 8″.
Doing some research, a Mazda Miata is 13′.
A Mini Cooper is 12′, but parking to miss both the garage door and staircase wall comfortably that would leave only 3.5″ clearance front and back. So once out of the car you could not get anywhere else in the garage!
But alas, the buyers don’t have a Mini Cooper!
Eyes wide open, folks! Look at what you’re buying before you make that big purchase!
