It would be extraordinary to live in a crazy house … that is a crazy structure (not just a house full of teenagers). I would live in a cave – especially during the summer to keep temperatures down. I would live in a tree-house – especially if the views were gorgeous.

Growing up in a middle class family and moving often around the country, my idea of paneling is the old traditional wood that people finally figured out could be painted white to lighten up a room.
While the task may seem daunting, I truly feel this project can be taken on by a beginner/novice. Just know it probably cannot be done in one day. It’s not possible, or likely not possible. We did this project over our Thanksgiving break, and it was time consuming. Hard. Frustrating. The end result? So worth it. It’ll instantly update a room and add value to your home.

The tree house’s main body rests on a structural system of seven oblique, conical shaped columns made of Siberian larch and greets visitors to the park with a taste of the innovation they’re about to see. As exciting as the tree house’s exterior is, the inside is no less interesting. The vaulted interior welcomes visitors with wallpaper depicting giant oak leaves as if the house itself were a tree.
I would definitely hang out here for a few days.
The level of creativity in the world is inspiring. From gorgeous interior designs to patterned driveways, houses have long been my favorite place to see talents come alive. To this end, kudos to the students at the Taliesin West campus of the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture who designed a desert dwelling. According to the school’s website,
A steel structure frames three-inch rammed-earth walls surrounding a patio, fireplace and bed. The masts and anchors on the structure adaptively accommodate a 150 square-foot roof membrane of shade-cloth or vinyl. The bed platform is situated above a fireplace for passive winter heating. The social patio and meditative zen garden are designed to integrate with the larger whole.

While I don’t know how much I would enjoy living in this type of high density housing environment, the deisgn is very attractive and innovative.

KOZ started out on their proposal by first identifying the four main things – high user quality, walk-around accessibility, individuality and interaction with neighbors – that they felt were essential qualities of a single-family residence, and then set out to adapt them to an apartment building.
