My pal Finn just celebrated Sam’s third birthday and realized she has been blogging for her daughter’s entire life. First, Happy Birthday to her little bundle of toddler!
I can’t believe I have a three year old. You’d think I’d get used to it eventually but so far, nope. She’s a blessing and a source of much love and frustration in one tiny fireball of a quirky little girl package. …the rollercoaster continues but we’ve made it three years! Fifteen more and she has to pay rent right???
Second, what? You can charge kids rent once they turn 18??
Third, it made me think about how long I have been blogging and I know for one child it’s at least half her life. it has been a long time. I began writing on an old site – I can’t even remember what it was called – in about 1998 or 2000. I finally graduated to Blogger and then to WordPress. I’ve also kept a LiveJournal site alive, though I have not been there in maybe a couple of years. Maybe it’s time to delete it.
So I have been blogging at least half of my kids’ lives. I’m sure when I’m gone, my words will be lost among the billions of other web sites. But for my kids, maybe they’ll come back and look around every now and then.
Hey, thanks for this! It’s just so amazing to me that I’ve kept a record of my life, even before baby. All online for the world to see if they want. Or not. Its kind of a cool thing and I think I’d be devastated if the internet ever blew up and it all disappeared!
