You say your kid is a screaming, temper tantrum throwing brat?  While this can be extremely frustrating, sometimes it’s easy to fix. Here We Are Together offers 10 ways to stop tantrums and anger.  For example,

When things start to get a bit stressful around here, sometimes giggling together can stop an argument before it really begins. Try saying “Shhh, do you hear that?” That will grab most children’s attention. We then have a variety of answers and Emi loves to help think of who it could be. Is it the Tickle Monster? Or maybe it’s the Tummy-Tickle-Fairy? It definitely works for us.

This actually works well both with kids and teenagers. I can’t count the times my daughter has been giving me the evil eye and I say something like, “Wait. Is that a smile? Yes, I think that’s a smile. No? Yes. A little bitty one.” Or something silly like that. It usually works to lighten the mood (thankfully!).
