I love cat and dogs equally. I have both, and I’ve always had both. I love the energy and enthusiastic, unconditional love you get from dogs, and I love the quiet companionship you get with cats (also, they are more low maintenance). Personality wise, I’d say I’m more of a “cat person”. I’m more laid back, introverted, and, yes, lazy. People that are NOT “cat people” usually claim it’s because cats don’t love you as much as dogs do. Some even claim that cats are evil, and only stick around for the free food. To that, I say BAH. Cats do love you. They just prefer to show it in ways that don’t include jumping on you and drooling all over your face. Check out this post by Danish Azizi at The Dog Breed to find out how your cat says “I Love You”:
-Scratching- it’s annoying, but cats only use scratching posts (or furniture to scratch on) if they are happy with where they live.
-Purring- the main way that cats proclaim love and affection.
-Sleeping- it’s a huge sign of trust and love if a cat sleeps in your lap, or on your bed.
-Licking- kitty kisses are considered rare, but it’s basically a cat trying to “groom” you. If a cat is licking you, she views you as part of her family.
