My indoor cat’s front paws are de-clawed. Usually, I’m against pointless and painful procedures– especially on animals who can’t consent– but when she was a kitten, she tore up every single piece of furniture in our house and even dug holes into our walls. It was the only way we could keep her without getting rid of her. That’s why, whenever I visit a friend’s house and their cat starts digging their claws into me, (I call it “making biscuits,” other people call it “milking”) I get a pretty rude awakening to reality. It HURTS! But, did you know that you can trim your cat’s claws WITHOUT hurting them or taking them to the vet? Again, this process is only recommended on indoor cats who don’t need to defend themselves, but it is an easy fix. Check out this Instructable by jessyratfink for a full tutorial. All you need is a pair of specialized claw trimmers, and a kitty!
