Fritz and Stephen, the two white-coated science guys from EepyBird.com who do experiments involving Coca-Cola and Mentos, are at it again. Not content to simply make Coke geysers out of mint-flavored Mentos, the two have decided to harness the power of Mentos and Coke explosions for human propulsion! The result is a soda-powered rocket car with candy fuel.
Awesomely, the car travels an impressive 221 feet, with a human passenger/driver, on nothing more than fizzy soda and sugary candy! How cool is that?! Meet the fun side of physics!
I can’t help but wonder just how many bottles of soda and Mentos it would take to get that car to reach 55 miles an hour, or, say travel a whole mile, rather than just a few hundred feet. Probably quite a few (or impossible, considering size limitations), but wouldn’t that be an interesting experiment to test out? I wonder what they’re going to do next.
